HerStory chronicles four female poets-by-night struggling with vanity, hardship and cultural confusion. From girlhood to the real world, this multicultural cast takes you on their journey through self-discovery.
Being a member of HerStory for the last few years has been a true privilege. The stories that we are telling are of great value. I find that in this work we are able to bring voices to the voiceless. There is pain, sorrow, joy and sisterhood in the work that we do.
Kraal Charles Media has bought together some of the most sought-after female poets in the nation. These women, from different ethnic backgrounds, perform poems, skits and monologues dealing with their perspective of living in the United States as women of the times. They share stories of empowerment, telling tales of women of all shapes, colors, ages, talents and cultures, bridging the gap between the women of today and future generations. They shatter preconceived notions of women in society and the evolving roles they are forced to play, sharing their stories today to inspire others tomorrow.
HERSTORY began touring east-coast universities in the Fall of '05. La Bruja, Claudia Alick, Vanessa "The Hebrew Mamita" Hidary and Peuo were given standing ovation after standing ovation, and with their words they will continue to entertain, enlighten and empower the young women of America.
